Very early release versions of Apple Lossless had issues with missing bytes after decompression but these were ironed out quickly and it now does what it says on the tin.
That said, it absolutely, positively should not be used for trading as it is not compatible with Windows before W2K and I'm not sure all Linux systems can cope either.
