Yes, you can download and also seed. Usually if you are the uploader (the one who puts up the torrent originally), you will devote most of your upload rate to uploading the show. However, if you just finished downloading it and are one of many seeders, you can usually cut back on your upload rate and thus seed for a longer bit of time until you get that 1 to 1 share ratio.
