Are you suggesting that you prefer form over functionality? The reason open-source tends to not look as good as pay software is that pay software usually has a team of people that can work 40+ hours per week on a single aspect of the software, be it interface, back-end, plugins, whatever. Open-source usually has a handful of people writing what they are most interested in themselves in whatever spare time they have outside of a real job.
Tuniac however, does have plans to improve the interface, we just value function first. Right now the lead coder is pretty swamped so not much is being done, but the next phase of the project is when interface work will begin. For now, however, its a lightweight, functional player, that emulates iTunes, and supports a large variety of formats.
And for those of you in 64 bit environments Tuniac is one of the few 64bit players that support these lossless formats.
PS: the screen-shot on sourceforge is pretty out of date.
