If you want to use Windows Media Player as your FLAC player, then all you need to do is download a DirectShow codec for FLAC.

All you do is install the .exe file and then Windows Media Player will be able to play FLAC files (as well as a number of other codecs). You might need to create a file association in Windows Explorer so that when you click on a .flac file Windows Media Player automatically opens the file but that's easy to do.
