Check and make sure that you are *really* firewalled (
sometimes if this site is busy, it can give a false positive on whether you are firewalled). Go to
www.canyouseeme.org and input the port number you are using and you will be told if you are connectable or not.
If you get the following message, then you are firewalled:
Error: I could not see your service on xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx on port (yyyy)
Reason: Connection timed out
If you get the following message, then you are NOT firewalled:
Success: I can see your service on xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx on port (yyyy)
Your ISP is not blocking port yyyy
If you are firewalled, then go to
portforward.com and follow the links for
port forwarding. You will need to know the make and model number of your router.
If canyouseeme.org says you aren't firewalled, but TTD says you are (make sure you are entering the same port number that is showing on the Peers List!), then just stop your torrents, wait a couple of seconds, and then start them again and that should fix the problem.
Please note that if you are firewalled at university or at work, it may be that you have no control over your firewall and therefore cannot make yourself connectable.
If you still need help, then please post a thread asking for help in this forum. Please let us know what
Operating System you are running, what
router make and model you are using, what
bittorrent client you are using (including the version), any
anti-virus protection app you have, etc. It would also help if you tell us what you have already done (in detail, if possible) and what the results of that effort were.
