Thanks, but I don't think that's my problem. I have a 3 month old Lite-On burner and everything other dvd I have burned (possibly 200) all have played fine on the same Sony that has a problem with this one so I doubt I have a conflict between burner and player.

What I haven't tried yet is to see how my pc' plays the source dvd that I copied from to see if that also freezes.
