When dealing with digital media generation info is pointless!! Whats the point if you have a CD-R (35) or DVD-R (4)?? The Quality is still the same. So never use generation info for digital media  People who say the contrary are wrong imo. But that's only for digital media, if you have old tapes the generation is very impotant!!
