MKVs instead of DVDs for SD video?
The Traders' Den rules still seem to require DVDs for SD video, although they allow modern container formats like MKV for HD video (the two policies are called "DVD Video Bittorrent Seeding Policy" and "HD Video Bittorrent Seeding Policy"). However, at a quick glance I see several recent SD torrents with MKV files - especially from Nirvana, which has a very active collecting community that's switched entirely to MKV files containing H.264/H.265.
What are the actual rules for SD video torrents today? It seems like maybe there's de facto acceptance of MKV files with modern codecs (which is good) - if so, can the admins update the video upload rules to reflect the current rules/standards and best practices?
If MKV files aren't intentionally being allowed here, then I can make an impassioned argument that they should be, but I'll hold off unless it turns out I need to.
