Clarify something for me mods

So if i grab something off another tracker and then seed it as long as taper info is in the txt file..This is ok correct? Just want to clarify from a certain user about a certain comment otherwise I will stop...:mad:

Not necessarily so. In order to upload something here at TTD one has to comply to our rules (see our faq (http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/faq.php?)). Other websites or trackers may apply different rules.

Thats not what I was asking. Everything I post complies I am simply asking can I do this. Download from one tracker have the file on my pc and seed. Cause an uber user decided to say something as if I was just posting from other trackes on here....

if everything complies to ttd standards then you are fine. who cares what someone else says? the only exception for me would be if the taper of the show asked for it not to be posted on other trackers. and, even in that case the taper couldn't really stop you if you wanted to post it elsewhere.

What you are ticked about is being called lame for grabbing something from bt.etree, and instantly reposting it here (for whatever reason) without giving any credit. (and having done it multiple times over w/out sticking around to seed). I think it's ridiculous and shitty to at least not say "grabbed this from <here>, thanks to <uploader> for posting" and at least waiting for a torrent to run its course elsewhere.

And then seed the damn thing for like a week, not till completion. :lol:

you are a bit of a serial re-seeder. That is certainly allowed and likely appreciated by many.


I think this can be resolved of you will (1) give credit as to where you got it (2) seed longer than the time it takes to get a couple completes.

i seed everything until there is at least 10 seeders or i see no more activity...all these files are on my pc i can do screenshots. And i see noone else doing this posting the tracker they grabbed it from.. DO I NEED TO POST WHO PRODUCED WROTE AND ENGINEERED THE SONGS?

You could.
There are many who, when grabbing something at another tracker & bringing it here, do post the tracker, the original seeder, or both. There are many who do not.
And many times it's not posted because the taper is seeding the show.

That user posted on another website as well. Only two of us tapers responded, but we both said that re-posting is fine. I said that you may be trying to up your ratio, you may be a glory hog, or you may just be trying to share the music, which is the point. Posting something from bt.etree (taper-friendly artists) to other sites (any artists) seems redundant, but there is no harm or foul in doing so.

I tape to share the music. i don't put my name in text files or torrent descriptions anymore. If you want to cross-post my uploads, knock yourself out.

Ever thing the reason something isn't posted to a specific tracker is because the guy who posted it originally either (a) hasn't got around to posting it elsewhere yet, or (b) doesn't want it on a specific tracker? Personally, if I wanted my recordings put on DIME (for example) I would fucking put them on DIME myself.

Does it really hurt to ask first? And even if you decide that is too much for you to bother with, at least show the courtesy of thanking and recognizing the original taper/seeder.

but doesnt it say that in the txt file.. The original.. Ill start posting that info..Then maybe there needs to be an EDIT to the sticky and say to do that cause i didnt see anything about that stuff..But i will start seeding again. I had a crash so I am redownlaoding everything...
