How many audio cd shows would fit on a 3TB external hard drive?
in flac or shn format.
thanks

A cd is probably average 400mb

3000gb/0,4gb = 7500 cd's

Also if you can afford it, get at least 2 externals so one can be used as a backup and the other as your day to day flac player memory location.

I'm paranoid and have at least 2 backups...especially for the shows I have recorded personally. Better safe than sorry.

I lucked out and bought two 2TB Seagate externals for $69 each at costco on black friday. I'm seriously considering sticking all my cds on externals. Video is a different animal (at least in my case).

Oh yes, don't forget about needing 30 floppys to back something up.

Those were the days. :lol4:

^^^ this is recommended, have also burn my flac collection on dvd, distributed risk!
only my dvd9 video´s only on hdd,
dvd9 are shitty to burn, too much defect after burning
if the hdd is full, i will made a backup
best way is a storage system with raid, but this needs a lot of money :(
