That is the solution. Hit "Upload show," then enter all the info you posted above. Near the bottom, you'll see external tracker checked. In the space that says "External link," paste your megaupload link.

I was just able to successfully upload something to that forum right here - http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/showthread.php?t=85593 I did all the normal things you have to do - select type of show, type of files, enter band name, date, text file, flac fingerprints (stolen from another show), then I just checked the External link and put in a link to megaupload itself and it uploaded just fine. If you did all those things, it should upload just fine to that forum.

Man, all this over sharing a legit show.

I really don't have the energy to pursue this any further.

Any more crap and I'll just take the post down.

I was really excited about the show and wanted to turn of folks to some great music.
Also, this time around my recording came out great.
The conditions were near perfect.
(you know how wrong it can go)

So I ask for some help...and get it.
Then I post in the lounge and some shithead (for no apparent reason) starts to talk crap.
Are people in the lounge area generally RUDE ?
Unbelievable.

Aren't we all a family of tapers (etc..) here, and have respect for each others efforts ?

That was my impression... that's why I'm here (TS as well).
Till now I haven't had anything stellar to post.

The "mega..." site seemed a good solution to my slow internet speeds.
I get to share my work, and not have to tie up my computer.

It seems that it does not work too well here though.

I posted this show 2 days ago on The Mars Volta site for trading and have 736 views and 40 thank you's or positive comments.
Someone even made a cover for me.
How cool is that.
And I just joined that site to post.

I'm not having a great experience right now, a site I've belonged to for almost a year.

...and this is a trading specific site. (of MANY bands)

Don't get me wrong, I've gotten some amazing shows from here, but that was not interacting with the members.
That was taking.
Now I want to give back, and there are problems.
Why is it so smooth there and not here ?:disbelief
Giving is usually much more appreciated than taking.

Look, I don't want to ruffle any feathers, I just want to post the show and share the joy.

You should not feel bad about posting your frustration(s). There is no reason to feel bad about asking for help, either. We need your good energy here. Stick around my friend! I believe you will find our community represents a pretty wide slice of humanity - and we are quite happy to have folks here who love sharing the music. Regarding the darker edges of our community, aka "the lounge"... My opinion - I love reading the stuff that is plastered up in the lounge (for about 5 minutes - lol). However, I would never post over there as I am pretty thin-skinned. I do support the rights of all members to openly show their real selves. Please accept my thanks for sharing your recording(s) with us. So thanks man! :wave:

I waited till I had a golden recording to post...something worthy.

It's just puzzling that on the 'Volta site it's been the TOP download since I posted it (752 views and/or downloads w/ 40 generous Thank You's) and here only 1 comment / thank you (you) and 12 views today here. It was like that in about 30 min over there.
(...and you haven't even heard it yet)

I think the visibility will go way up if you try to upload as a torrent. Nothing wrong with the external upload, but my observation is that they just don't get the heavy traffic like a standard upload. For me - I would rather 12 people get something they love, then 800 hits and nobody who will even bother to listen. It's not really about quantity if you love what your doing. Peace!

I guess the reason I got so passionate about the situation is that I don't get excited about much
- but this performance and recording re-lit my taping bug - and that to me is priceless.

I wanted to share this, and I guess I assumed that others would feel the same once they heard it.
I listened to the recording 10 times (then I got burned out on it).
I found 1 small glitch, not worth pointing out where.

I listen and see a lot of music, but this show just really did it for me (and I think everyone in the room)
Folks are still talking about it on the volta forum.
I assumed that seasoned tapers and traders would have a similar reaction.

My bad. :duh:
