Ok, I'm new. I read everything I could and I'm still a bit unsure what to do. I have a lot of shows I want to share, but on't know how to transfer to FLAC. Anyone? They are all MP3.

There is no purpose to convert mp3 to flac. mp3 is lossy and it does not become lossless when you convert it. Once it's mp3, it's lossy forever. So don't ever convert mp3 to flac.
Additionally, mp3 are not permitted here at TTD and, of course, flacs converted from mp3 are a big no no as well.

You don't take a lossy file, mp3, and transfer it to a lossless filetype, flac. Once a file is lossy, you can never add back the lost data.

unless the mp3s have been released as a "silver boot" as this site recognizes "silver boots" as "SOURCE ZERO"
and those are said to be equal in value to the original master tapes (at this site) .... at least that's how certain ABT mods have explained it previously
need a link to that expalnation?

Incorrect. A silver boot that is mp3 sourced will be pulled as well.

It already happened here. And wasn't pulled. A silver boot that was once based on a master that I made.
But what difference, it will happen again, Billy-Bob.
No bullshit there........
Because whatever the source, "silver boots" are here considered "SOURCE ZERO" -- aren't they?

Just report it. It will get pulled if it is mp3.

FIRST: Make sure it gets picked up by Empress Valley, or DAC, or Sigma, or Tarantura, or TCOLZ, or one of the more popular silver bootleg labels. (Check the FAQ here to see if there's a list of the most favored labels, I dunno.)
Once they process it, you won't recognize your master. I can attest to that.
SECOND: it always helps if it gets reviewed at CMR or Hot Wacks or BIG O, as that will help to legitimize the bootleg for certain collectors.
THIRD: That also helps create demand, which will drive the desire for this site to host that new "Source Zero" version.
ULTIMATELY your Led Zeppelin "Sticks 'n'' Saliva" Septober 31, 1978 recording WILL begin to compete with itself, ....THAT IS, until the remastered versionS comes out of the closet at the Hotel, so that there'll be dozens of competing versions everywhere.....you bet.
mp3's included, from some Quality blog or another........
And if you're really lucky, some muffin-dude will demand your master for the Mouf of the Bitch ultimate remaster, which can start the entire process all over again.
Don't bother to report it, as "SOURCE ZERO" has it's own special set of laws of physics that exist outside the realm of reality.

Freezer, you are confusing my statements regarding the way we police lineage on a silver boot vs. low-gen sources with lossy audio.
They are two different criteria. We will continue to treat them the same as we always have:
1) a silver boot is just that - the first source (source zero, as you seem to enjoy) in the lineage because we cannot know what came before the bootlegger got it. We allow them so collectors can get them for free.
2) audio may not have been run through lossy digital data compression, regardless of lineage.
as with anything, exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis - kind of like how we might delete and ban someone for trolling a technobabble thread, but in your case, we'll explain the same shit to you over and over.. again.
You're exceptional.

Whining in forums - a hobby?
They do it here all the time...the inability tp get what they want on demand usually is the start - whether it's a recording or information about the origin of the recording, AND if ya whine enough and you can get to be a ABT mod just like flotsam and jersam....no bullshit.... it's just like magic.
Now go have some ribs, why'don'cha?

Don't Do It!
It will not recover the fidelity.
If it gets burned to CDR it will pollute the torrent pool.
PLEASE DON'T
