I recently attended a tom petty show in philly. (great time btw) and have not seen anything from them on any tracker. Then I thought to myself, self, while you were there you saw half the people had their cameraa and smartphones out recording this. So........I went to youtube and found just about the whole concert in different files (songs) of varying degrees of quality. I downloaded all that I could using the youtube downloader and saved them on my harddrive as .mp4 files. I would like to splice these together using the best audio tracks there and using multiple camera angles during the same song. BTW - This is for my own personal use ONLY. I wont polute any trading pool with handheld camera audio and video. ( I have no idea what format they are saved as and I know that youtube converts them to their silly propriatary format.) Strictly something that the wife and I can sit down and enjoy and relive our experience.

Any thoughts on a good program that can acomplish this?

Never having done this I am sure it will probably take me 3 months or so to do this!!! ha.

Maybe something available on the pirate bay?

Any comments apreciated. Peace.

PS: I am a product of public education and can not spell!!!! I am also blind and can not see the spell check button in the upper right corner!!! ha ha

Thank you Kill_them_all1000, however I have never joined dimeadozen. I think you need an invite or something. Would love to join just to get these.

no invites necessary at dime, just persistence in signing up, often it will show no new members but keep trying that same day as they seem to be purging members at a good clip and new members get in everyday

Just make a few reloads and you'll get the sign up page. To me it appeared at first reload when I tried it a few minutes ago, maybe you're lucky as I am.

Thank you jabulon. I have looked at the links you so kindly provided and believe that fishing around in them will be of great help. I believe that the Sony Vegas Pro package I saw on another site will be the software I will be using. Win7 Ultimate, 4 core AMD, 8 gig memory, dual HD's with 2 TB+, ATI RadeonHD 3200 on board graphics, onboard audio. Perhaps somehow I will get the 7/31/2010 off of Dime and marry that to the Youtube videos. Fairly ambitious project for the first time, but having been there, it would be worth it to me. Peace.

Hey guys and gals,

was able to get vegas pro 9 and get it working. (very complex program) was able to do what I wanted. The youtube videos are synced with the audience recording perfectly. However between the videos is a lot of crowd noise that I tried to fill in with photos of that night I got off of various web sites in .jpg format. There are also 2 songs out of 17 that were not on youtube........bummer. Those bastards in the audience need bigger memory cards for their gear!!!! ha ha. tried to fill those spaces in with still photos as well. It was funny, sometimes the timeline would show them and other times it would not. Some photos would not show up at all in the timeline so I could not use them. Anyway I used those that would show up in the preview window as filler and rendered the whole mess as an Mpeg-2. Then used convert XtoDVD for the final burn. Came out great except the still photos never came out on the final product. Oh well, I must be doing something wrong. On the plus side after the wife and I watched It I got "some" that night. YEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAA!!!! So alls well that ends well. Peace.
