invalid argument?

When i'm trying to decode a download using xACT (X Audio Comression ToolKit 1.62 I keep getting a Invalid Argument Warning and I can't decode. Does anyone know what happened or what I'm doing wrong?

It also says the it can't open output file.

Try updating xACT to version 1.71 and see if you still have the same issues.

I've tried that an it doesn't work. I can get a son to play somehow but I can't decode it and move it to ITunes. But when the song is playing it says it's playing thru ITunes but it doesn't appear in itunes.

I've tried older and new downloads and I get the same message.

I just tried an older file and instead of moving it to itunes , I sent it to another folder and that works. Now what's wrong with my itunes and can I move over?

I decode to my desktop then drag the files into iTunes....when I use that stuff

for real now....decode the stuff to your desktop THEN drag all the files into iTunes....whatever titles each file has will remain. you can change the titles in iTunes if you like.

It tells me this,

You cannot copy some of these items to the destination because their names are too long for the destination.Do you want to skip copying these items and continue copying the other items?

if the destination is the desktop then there shouldn't be an issue.....perhaps shorten the file names before decoding?

And also I can get the file to another location but I can't move it to my external hardrive were my music is kept.

if "Track1.flac" makes the file name (which includes the path) too long, you probably need to move your iTunes folder. Put it in the root or something.

Just move it and see if it works.

Doesn't work. It's almost like the file won't open correctly to be moved or transfered. I can't even change the location name.

Restart the Mac.
Click on one of the flac files, rename it "ABC.flac" or anything short like that.
In the FINDER, Duplicate it using (command D) or menu FILE to Duplicate and drag the copy to the desktop.

Then open xACT and decode it to a wav or aiff on the desktop.

If that doesn't work download XLD which is something like xACT and try again.
