Couple of newbie questions here i'm afraid:

If i burnt tracks from a CUE file onto an Audio CD and then put them back on my CPU
using EAC, and then through TLH in FLAC , will they still be lossless?

Same question regarding burning FLAC files to Audio CD too..

Cheers.

as long as they had never been lossy-ly compressed, then yes they'd still be lossless

however, the burning and extraction processes can result in "glitches" or other errors, therefore changing the files & leaving you with an inferior copy so to speak...

best to archive & keep all shows in their original format [flac/shn/etc], and burn listenable copies from those

John, if you wanted to do this just so you'd have seperate tracks, you can instead download a nifty little utility called CD Wave Editor here (http://www.milosoftware.com/en/index.php?body=download.php). In it, you can load the .CUE file then save the resultant tracks right to FLAC format. No glitches and lossless. The reason you run into trouble adding the step of actualy burning the tracks to CD is in that CD is optical media VS magnetic like a HDD, and optical media ALWAYS has errors.
