You/We can't if you don't know the equipment & the software (if any) used to record the show.

You/We can't if you don't know the equipment & the software (if any) used to record the show.

Well I just need to know what lineage to put on the torrent submission.

In the past Lynn has helped with that type of thing. I'm clueless when it comes to all this technical stuff.

We need more info. Where did you get it? What format? What, if anything, have you done to it? Etc.

I got it in a trade, and it's exactly as I got it. The dvd when loads up has a still image with a "picture in picture" so to speak of a screengrab.

If you see that youtube clip I posted in the 1st post, it is a clip from that exact show that I ripped to post as an example. I've meant to post this a long time ago but things got in the way and I've been away for awhile.

It IS a Pro-Shot show and it's an NTSC coding

From the stats, no chapters & the quote, it sounds like a standalone capture, but it's also NTSC from a PAL country? Email the person you got it from, and ask them if they know anything about the lineage. With no more info than I got it in a trade, it's not seedable here, sorry.

To me it looks more like a screen feed. I mean, it has those very big close ups that you can only see at a concert on the screen.

wow....dislike hip hop much?

The Sixth Rat Packer
2010-02-21, 03:38 PM
What does that have to do with anything? :hmm:

The festival has grown to fifteen stages, 1200 artists and about 25,000 visitors a day. The festival is known worldwide for the many music styles it presents, from traditional New Orleans jazz to Swing, bebop, fusion, blues, gospel music, funk music, soul music and drum n bass.

Besides, Common has incoporated a lot of jazz type influences into his music.

The fact it's a Jazz Festival where actual Jazz Musicians play the big halls...I don't see hip hop in that list of genre's you quoted. He's lucky to have even been invited.

The show I posted:

Townes Van Zandt
11/10/96
Steinenhaus,
Solingen, Germany

source: sbd dat
Jerry Moore's clone

lineage: sbd>dats
transfer/seed by Rob Berger 1/12/10

Was listed as not meeting lineage requirements and referenced CDRs. This was a DAT recording to FLAC conversion.

My info (http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/showthread.php?p=1363994#post1363994) was the exact same as:

http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/showthread.php?t=79076

the other Townes Van Zandt posting that was here so I'm a little confused why the standards have changed. I don't have any further information about lineage in terms of equipment used.

I was wondering the same, as I've posted several torrents that I didn't know the lineage to, and Lynne pointed out what it should be, after seeing screenshots or sample footage.

But I wasn't going to push the matter. Not a big deal, I just won't be able to upload it.

Common invented jazz didn't he? God people here need to learn their revisionist history asap.

hip hop could be associated with quite a few of the genres that were listed: fusion, funk, soul...and if it weren't for hip hop, there'd definitely be no drum n bass

that said, common is a lot closer to soul jazz than he is hip hop these days...he shoulda never dropped the sense, thats when it all started goin downhill for me ;)

Are you serious? 70/80s fusion, Cobham/Johnson, white/clarke, multiple WR drumz/Jaco :disbelief

Lineage -

Original flac files >
Flac Frontend (flac to wav) >
Cakewalk Pyro 2005 (retracked wav files here) >
Trader's Little Helper (new wav files to flac,
encode level 8, aligned on sector boundaries)

One CD, 15 tracks, TT: 51:57
Excellent minus to excellent FM broadcast recording.
9-9.5/10 IMHO, as always.
This sounds to me like the complete show.

All tracks originally taken from radio broadcast ?th gen recording.
I originally downloaded this from STG (?) in December 2004.

Not much to say on this one. I am upping this as a request from TheCommish.
This is a hilarious set from the Tubes masquerading as a country-western band.
The only two things that I did to this file set was to retrack it for accuracy
and to split the final track into two tracks, as The Last Time was hidden
within WPOD. That's all I did. This is a great-sounding FM broadcast and will
be loved by all Tubes fans everywhere. That's about all I have to talk about,
so let's wrap this thing up....

Not much else can be added. The web site referred to in the docs is no longer in operations. It's a great show and I'd love to share it if I can.

so the lineage would be:
FM > ? > flac [2004 STG seed] > Flac Frontend > wav > Cakewalk Pyro 2005 (retracked wav files here) > Trader's Little Helper > flac (encode level 8, aligned on sector boundaries)

i'd say probly not allowed, but i'll allow one of the ABT mods to make the final call
