over the last couple of days my pc has slowed down immensely when it comes to burning cd's & dvd's using either nero or sonic...not only that but converting flacs to wav used to take 40 - 70 seconds and now takes 10 - 15 MINUTES using either flac frontend or traders little helper...i have no problems with my DL speed though, that seems to be the same...any ideas? and now i've noticed it's even sloooowerrrrrrrr...help mr wizard! :hmm:

Check to see how fragmented your HD is. Could use a de-frag.

Could help the burning issue ( haha ), but has nothing to do with the length of time converting flac>wav.

Check the fragmentation of the drive, & the health of your RAM.

Not sure about the FLAC conversion, but when my burner slowed down (and sometimes didn't burn properly) it was because I needed a new power supply for the computer.

hmmm ... also could be adware sucking up resources. run a prog like spybot or ad-aware or something and also the usual antivirus. use ctrl+alt+delete and check if your memory & cpu are working hard when the computer should be idle.
