just get a drive and put the shows on there? what is the difficulty with that? are you trying to play them on the computer from the external drive?

Do you mean you want to take them from CDR (wav) to be stored on a harddrive, or from flac/shn files and store them on a drive? If from CDR, you'd have to extract the wavs and should compress them to flac and then store them on the drive. If they are alreayd in flac form, just put them on the drive. I'd suggest having a sorting system of some sort so you can easily find them though.

What im looking to do is this
put them on pc from cdr and then be able to play them straight from the pc to my stero this part im ok with. Its putting them all on to the pc from cd ive tried useing media monkey but you carnt use the same song twice..
I want to put them all on to its own hard drive and just click on what i want and play but getting them on to a hard drive is all new to me.
Do i just copy to pc and give each cd a folder with its name is this a way to do it..If i sound a bit thick on this its because i no little about pcs..

Use EAC to extract. Use a folder for each show. Use Foobar to play.

connect optical out on sound card to optical in on receiver. select source on receiver and turn volume to 11.

if you got a bit of $$ you can get a great soundcard for about $120 eg m-audio audiophile 2496 but there's also great ones from edirol, e-mu, etc around the same quality & price.

you can just connect to your stock soundcard but if its output jack is 1/8" not that great. if you don't want to spend $$ you can just get a 1/8" stereo male > 2x rca cable (find it at a place that sells guitars, if you're really lucky the buck store might have one.
