Trouble Seeding

On all the torrent sites that I'm on, my seeding ratio is very low. However, for the most part I seed everything after I finish downloading it for a pretty long time... But it seems when I download concerts off of these sites I very rarely connect to the peer(s) when I finish, lowering my ratio. On some sites like this its OK to have a low ratio (although I really would like to be kind to others and seed for them) but on sites like DimeADozen I can't download anything if I get below a certain ratio. I'm seeding about 20 things right now, is that whats causing it? Also there are only 1 or 2 peers in the torrents I'm having trouble with...so its hard to connect with them. What should I do to get a better ratio?

one way to improve you ratio is to upload stuff. other than that your best bet is to get on a torrent as soon as it starts. if you get on a torrent late after the majority have downloaded it you will have a harder time improving your ratio.

Part of the problem is that you are firewalled. That means you may NOT connect to any other users who are firewalled. If you are on a show with only a couple of seeders or leechers, then this may cause problems for you since you are so limited to who you may connect to. Also, instead of just turned on all the torrents to seed, take a look at the stats for the shows and pick ones that have a lot of leechers - and in your case, lots of non-firewalled leechers.

You should also head over to portforward.com and see about forwarding your ports so you are no longer firewalled.
