the video player in Toast/Roxio Creator seems very popular for native m2ts playback

Plex (http://www.plexapp.com/) is the bomb for a lot of formats (once you get used to the interface) and MPlayer OS X Extended (http://mplayerosx.sttz.ch/) has some good points. Navigate to the M2TS file in the Stream directory (I think it is) and open with either of those.

I seem to recall that the player embeded in Vuze will play them (but I can't check that out at the moment).
