Hello, I just purchased a new computer and need some help in burning DVD's. My computer came with Roxio creator premier 10.2 and I am running Vista 64 bit. The problem that I'm experiencing is when I try to 'add new movie' in MyDVD express or MyDVD, the application will not recognize all of the files in the VIDEO_TS folder. So, I'm able to burn the VOB files but I'm assuming that I'm missing the menus that should accompany the DVD. I have also experienced the same issue when burning DVD using windows DVD maker. I never had this issue with NERO. I'm hoping that someone knows how to work around this issue.

Thanks in advance;
John

hi -

the first places i check for tech help regarding programs is :

1. the program's help/manual
2. the program's support site
3. program-specific forums (most have them)

good luck!

use disc copy and point it to the right folder at least that's how earlier roxio versions worked. My basic version won't allow it but full featured version should.

Thanks Diggrd, unfortunately, my version does not have the option to 'copy DVD Movies'. It has 'create image' and 'burn image' but when I try to create an image from the VIDEO_TS folder it is not recognized. I really appreciate your input though.

seek out prassi ONES. don't know if it works with vista64 but if it does, you'll be spitting at your copy of roxio

Try Ashampoo Burning Studio 6 FREE. I have Roxio 7, but I recently used this to burn a DVD that Roxio 7 wouldn't recognize. Works great. (Oops! Forgot you're using Vista. Not sure about that issue. Anyway, good luck!)

ImgBurn is an excellent bit of freeware, if you'd like to try an alternative.

I use Roxio/Sonic. I use the "data disc" feature.
Click and drag the VIDEO_TS folder plus anything else you have.
Press burn.

If you still have a problem, try clicking on the 'properties' (My Computer>right click on drive>menu>properties>recording)of the drive and hit the 'recording' tab. Maybe you need to check the box that sometimes needs to be checked and/or the burning speed needs to be slowed down?

BurnAware

Try BurnAware Free it's very easy to use, small footprint and simply works :)
I've used it to burn both regular DVDs and AVCHD discs downloaded from TTD. Never had any problems.

Oh...and did I mention it's FREE ;)

Cheers.
