Hi -
I've been unable to process this torrent. I always use DVD Imager (using a Mac, OS 10.4.x), drag the TS_VIDEO folder to the tool, which produces a .IMG disk image that I can burn to disk using Disk Utility. Done this many times without a problem.
In this case, I change the name of the first folder from VIDEO_TS-1 to VIDEO_TS, drag it into DVD Imager and the tool works for a second and reports Done! (process usually takes 10 minutes or more.) It produces an empty .IMG file.
As a Plan B, I used Disk Utility:
- Change TS_VIDEO-1 to TS_VIDEO
- Add an AUDIO_TS folder
- Select New > Disk Image From Folder > select folder containing both _TS folders > Image Format = DVD/CD Master
- This produces a .CDR image
- I tried burning this to DVD using Disk Utility, but it produces a coaster.
Other clues:
- Usually, I can open the VIDEO_TS folder, select the VIDEO_TS.IFO, and open with DVD Player. In this case, the DVD Player says "Supported Disk Not Available".
- I can play the videos on my MAC if I use DVD Player > Open DVD Media > select the TS_VIDEO folder. So I know the video files are playable.
Any assistance you can offer is greatly appreciated.
- Charles

Have a look at the files inside the V_TS folder. If they look kosher (let us know them here), try creating a new folder, name it...hmmm, er, hmmm VIDEO_TS, drag the contents of the original in and try your process again.

I previously tried what you suggested: created another VIDEO_TS folder and dragged the files in. Same result. The files *look* ok, at least from a size standpoint. Here's the structure.
VIDEO_TS-1/VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS-1/VIDEO_TS.IFO
VIDEO_TS-1/VIDEO_TS.VOB
VIDEO_TS-1/VTS_01_0.BUP
VIDEO_TS-1/VTS_01_0.IFO
VIDEO_TS-1/VTS_01_1.VOB
VIDEO_TS-1/VTS_02_0.BUP
VIDEO_TS-1/VTS_02_0.IFO
VIDEO_TS-1/VTS_02_1.VOB
VIDEO_TS-1/VTS_02_2.VOB
VIDEO_TS-1/VTS_02_3.VOB
VIDEO_TS-1/VTS_02_4.VOB
VIDEO_TS-2/VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS-2/VIDEO_TS.IFO
VIDEO_TS-2/VIDEO_TS.VOB
VIDEO_TS-2/VTS_01_0.BUP
VIDEO_TS-2/VTS_01_0.IFO
VIDEO_TS-2/VTS_01_1.VOB
VIDEO_TS-2/VTS_02_0.BUP
VIDEO_TS-2/VTS_02_0.IFO
VIDEO_TS-2/VTS_02_1.VOB
VIDEO_TS-2/VTS_02_2.VOB
VIDEO_TS-2/VTS_02_3.VOB
VIDEO_TS-2/VTS_02_4.VOB

You didn't put *all* those files into a single VIDEO_TS file, did you?

No. The torrent produced two folders: VIDEO_TS-1 and VIDEO_TS-2. I changed each of the folder names to VIDEO_TS and processed them separately. I get the same result for each one.

Yeah - I can play the VIDEO_TS using Apple DVD Player. Problem is: I can't make a .IMG using DVD Imager, and can't burn it to DVD.

right...I gotcha Charles...I use the same software and run the same OS. Out of maybe 200 dvd downloads I've had five or six that I could never get to become .img....you got your DVD imager set to VIDEO_TS not disc copy right?

I just tried a trick I have used before....I put dvd imager in disc copy mode after I have made a empty AUDIO_TS folder in the file set with the VIDEO_TS folder..then I drag the VIDEO_TS folder to dvd imager and copy that "imaginary disc." SO I trick the imager into think it is copying. I have had that work (although it didn't work on the one I am messing with right now....annoying).

Yep - tried that, too. No joy.

Yeah - tried that too (at the suggestion of Mr Lee, author of DVD Imager). His recommendations: always use DVD Imager under a admin account, and put the TS_VIDEO at the root dir. of the boot volume. Didn't work in the cause, tho...

You keep typing TS_VIDEO, I hope you didn't do that on your computer also?

Try Burn (http://burn-osx.sourceforge.net/Pages/English/home.html) instead. Use the Data tab. You can save as a disc image (File menu) first if you want to check again before burning.

Sorry - dyslexia. No - it's VIDEO_TS on the folders.

I'll try that tonight when I get home. Thanks for the tip.

Success! I downloaded Burn and successfully created a good image. Then I burned a DVD from the image and it plays on my Mac, just like it should (insert disk and DVD Player opens in full screen mode, all chapters play good, etc). After work today I'll check the disk out in my external player.
Thanks for the tip. If the disk works in my external player, I'll use Burn from now on.
