I love VLC. it's light-weight, it plays ANYthing.

BUT

is there a way to set the directory it opens to when you hit ctrl+o?

I mean

I'm sick of having to navigate to where my bootlegs are stored on my harddrive. Its a pain in the ass, and this thing always wants to start in "My Documents"

??

Anyone feel my rage?

be nice if it STAYED in whatever directory I was in before I opened the song. And yeah I know about playlists but... yah

What I do is to keep a Windows Explorer window open pointing to the root of my music files, and drag & drop them into VLC playlist. Either way you still have to do some navigation... unless you have ALL the files in the same folder :wtf:

vlc takes me back to the vid folder on my hd which is what I want...I get bugged when I get gaps between vobs that is my point of annoyance.

VLC blows goats.. get Media Player Classic  WAY more configurable and more playblack options, especially better Overlay output for thise with good GPUs that want to offload the BS to the card.

Yeah, but I don't configure my media player. I open it, I push play.
I've not found a skin for any of my media players that I perfer over the primary skin it comes with.

I've been using Foobar2000 as of late, at least all my shit is right there and I don't have to worry....

VLC is one of the few apps I know that has actually regressed in later versions, at least on the Mac side.

well, VLC used to be amazing to me because whenever I downloaded a movie i could play it 99% of the time

but now I'm spending 99% of my time listening to music, rather than watching movies... so foobar is goin to remain my music player, i'll pop open VLC when i need to get a .mkv running or somethin'

I was looking at the themes some people made for foobar.... im still not convinced i want to "theme" or "skin" any of my players.. foobar could do with some simple color changes tho...

are there any good minimalist (not too much going on) themes out there? I like the default but it could use a fresher look I think.. esp since I display in wide mode date/artist/album/track/duration and use foobar to browse my entire collection
