I have perused the FAQ Software section
more specifically here

Freeware Software Links. Look Inside If You're Stuck!

Near the bottom of this page:

and have a couple of suggestions for review as a possible addition to the Windows section.

aTunes looks like a good addition since it supports flac files (I'm adding it right now). However, I can't tell if GOM supports a VIDEO_TS folder and I can't try it out since I'm on a Mac. Can you verify that it will play a VIDEO_TS folder? How about the new hd files like mkv?

Thanks for the suggestions!

It is difficult at best to get an exact list of media files supported by GOM Player
the best overview is the Wikipedia page on GOM Player (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GOM_Player)

However I have taken the time to copy down the supported extensions as listed in the Preferences in GOM Player

.gom, .avi, .svi, .divx, .asx, .asf, .wmx, .wmv, .wvx, .wm, .wmp, .mpg, .mpe, .mpeg, .dat, .ifo, .vob, .m1v, .m2v, .tp, .ts, .trp, .dmb, .mp4, .m4v, .k3g, .3gp, .skm, .dmskm, .lmp4, .rm, .mvb, .mkv, .ogm, .swf, .flv, .mqv, .mov

Also...

The following CODEC formats are played by GOM's built-in CODEC.

AC3, OGG, XVID, DIV1 - DIV6, DIVX, DX50, MP41 - MP43, H263, AP241, MPG4, MP4S, M4S2, MP4V, BLZ0, MJPG, RMP4, DXGM, H264

( I cannot find any file type selections within aTunes software )

The best info I can locate on aTunes supported file types are here:

Wikipedia on aTunes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATunes)
AND
aTunes own Wiki page (http://www.atunes.org/wiki/index.php?title=Features)

MP3, ogg, wma, wav, flac, mp4, ape, mpc, mac

All right. I've added them to the PC section.
