I have never tried but a few times saw mentioned CDRoller (http://www.cdroller.com). CDCheck (http://www.softwarepatch.com/software/cd-recovery.html) and CD Recovery Toolbox (http://www.oemailrecovery.com/cd_recovery.html) are free.

Don't mean to insult, but can we assume it's been cleaned thoroughly, possibly with 2 or 3 different cleaning products...?

Thanks, Pawel, http://www.oemailrecovery.com/cd_recovery.html, very nearly did the trick.
It extracted much of the disc that i had not yet seen, and although it was successfully extracting the rest of the disc, it was doing it so slowly that i began to fear for the health of my CD burner because the rate at which the software was extracting would have meant my CD Burner being constantly active for several days.

Thanks anyway! That CD Recovery Toolkit is probably worth owning.

While not free ($29.50 US), I have used CDRoller to recover both data and
video from corrupted DVDR. It is also good at recovering video from discs that
were not properly finalized by a standalone DVD recorder (this was very helpful
as the recorder that had created the discs was no longer functional).

It is also very slow, that's just the nature of thorough disc recovery.......

Good luck!
