firewalled, or not?

hey now
I have the red firewalled under my name, yet I am dl'ing at over 300kb and up'ing much slower, but I also just started the dl
should i just ignore the red firewall?

Being firewalled has nothing to do with your speed. It has to do with who you may connect to. If you are firewalled, you will only be able to connect with non-firewalled users. This may be a problem when trying to download a show with only a seeder or two (especially if they are both firewalled because you won't be able to download anything).

i have a new version of FireFox, with internet exp. and i am trying to see if there is no port forwarding, or what's up ..

i haven't changed internet service and my upload has usually been good, but i seem to ony be uploading at 2-6k. I went into internet exp and opened ports 6887-6889 as wll as utorrent is checked as one of the upload places. I am also using firefox 3.05
is there anything else i should do to improve the speed? I also remember the torrent should be in the folder of dl as well? if so how do i copy it to the folder from uttorent
i've also restarted my modem

Look at the stats on the torrent you are on:

100 seeders and only 9 leechers. You are still listed as firewalled (the firewalled sign won't change until you stop the torrent and start it again, so I don't know if you are actually still firewalled since playing with your ports), so I don't know how many of the users you are able to connect to. But, just looking at the stats - tons of seeders and only a few leechers means there aren't a lot of users to share with.

Thanks for that. I'd been showing as firewalled but knew I wasn't. Never just thought to stop and re-start the torrent. Worked like a charm. :)
