Running MAC OS 10

How do I rip the audio and video from a DVD, then edit the video. What I specifically want to do is cut the dvd into separate sections (or songs) and have an individual video of the song.

Check MPEG Streamclip (http://www.squared5.com) or ProjectX (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/ProjectX) which are able to demux (separate video & audio) and not re-encode MPEG/VOB.
