I figured maybe I should have one thread to just post new stuff that we've added to the site. I'm not gonna go back to the beginning, just hit a couple of things that have happened since the beginning of the year.

Torrent Thread Validation

The mods are going through each thread to look for specific things - the correct type of fingerprints, lineage, gspot info, etc. You, as the seeder, may see a note left at the top of your screen if they require your attention. You may see any of the following notes.

If you didn't provide st5s with your shn or ape files:
http://www.thetradersden.org/images/verified/11shn.png

If you didn't provide st5s or flac fingerprints with your flac files:
http://www.thetradersden.org/images/verified/12flac.png

If you didn't provide audio/video bitrate/codec information with your video upload:
http://www.thetradersden.org/images/verified/13gspot.png

Something else is required, so please see the post by the moderator:
http://www.thetradersden.org/images/verified/14modpost.png

I think this went into effect at the beginning of the year. If you fix the problem, the mods should come along and get rid of that note at the top of the thread.

Ignore Thread

Don't like a thread? Just ignore it and it won't show up when you do a search or go to a forum:

Warning about Inactive Torrents

There is a warning in the thread right below the torrent file if the torrent is about to go inactive. Torrents go inactive when they have not had a seeder for three weeks. The warning is seen in the thread when there has been no seeder for two weeks.

[you tube]code here[/youtube] or
[you tube="code here"]video title[/youtube] or
[g video]code here[/gvideo] or
[g video="code here"]video title[/gvideo]The result is something like this:

Threads Needing Attention

To go along with our Torrent Thread Validation (http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/showpost.php?p=965103&postcount=1), we added a notice for those seeders who have threads that need attention:
56392

To view a list of threads that need attention, just click on the link. When you have taken care of the action requested, just click on the Report this Post icon, http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/images/buttonsttd/report.gif, and a mod will mark the thread as validated and it will be removed from your list.

Thank you for taking care of these.

Inserting Images into the Middle of your Post

Did you know you can insert images into the middle of your post - not just at the bottom in the little Attached Images box?

Simply do what you normally do and hit the Manage Attachments button and upload your attachments, but then go to the body of your post, put your cursor where you want the image to appear, and select the little paperclip at the top. You will get a dropdown with your uploaded attachments.

http://www.thetradersden.org/images/grab1.png

Select the one your want and your image will be inserted into the middle of your post.
http://www.thetradersden.org/images/grab2.png

See my above post on Threads Needing Attention to see the the result of these screenshots.

Torrent Put on Hold

To go along with the Torrent Thread Validation in the first post and the Threads Needing Attention in the seventh post, we now can put Torrents on Hold. This is something we can do if we get a report about there being Officially released material in the torrent and we need to check it out, or we can do it if the mods have a question that needs addressed prior to the show being available for download.

If your torrent is on Hold, you should see a notice at the top of the Forums (http://test.thetradersden.org/forums?) page like this:
56684

Also, if you go to the actual torrent thread, this message should be at the top and the torrent file will also not be available for download:
56686

If you look at the torrents list, you should be a stop sign and no seeders/leechers/completes listed:
56685

A moderator should post in the thread about why the torrent was placed on hold. If action is required from the seeder, then after you have done the requested action, please hit the Report this Post button, http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/images/buttonsttd/report.gif, to let the Mods know the torrent is ready to be taken off of Hold.

Social Groups - create

One of the new features with the vbulletin software upgrade is Social Groups. You may find them in the navbar:
59650

That page will bring you to the Social Groups main page. From there you may select a group to view, or create a new group:
59651

When you create a new group, you may make it Public, Moderated, or Invite only. You may also select to have only users be able to view the messages.
59992

Public - open to everyone. There is no restriction on who can join or who can post messages to it
Invite Only - require an invitation to be sent to join them. Invitations can only be sent by the group creator or forum moderators and administrators. Invitations are sent by clicking 'Pending & Invited Members' at the bottom of the page for that individual group
Moderated - open to everyone to join but messages need to be moderated before they will appear. They are moderated by the group creator and the site moderators and administrators

If you would like other Categories added for the Social Groups, or have other suggestions/comments, please make a post about it in this forum.

edit: 2009-01-27: Changed the Create Group image to include allowing to Enable Albums.

Tagging

We have enabled tagging of threads on the site. You should notice a Tag Cloud at the top of both of the Torrent forums like this:
59845

The Tag Cloud is a result of tagging of all the threads that users are doing. In order to tag a thread, go to the bottom of the page and you should see a Tags box. Hit the Edit Tags button on the right and you may add tags:
59846

Please keep these comments non-negative. I can see who makes the tags.

If you upload a show, you will be presented with the Tags box just above where you attach the torrent:

Albums - for sharing pictures

We have enabled albums now. You may get to this feature by either the top navbar - Community > Pictures & Albums - or going to your member page and clicking Add Album (or Show All Albums if you already have one) under the right-hand Albums box. On that page you may click on Add Album and Create an Album:
59993

Once you create the album, you may upload your pictures (this page also lists your picture limits):
59994

And you may make comments regarding your pictures:

Albums - for your profile page

You may also upload images just for use on your profile page. Go to Add and Album and select "Profile - Pictures used to modify your profile style":
59996

Upload a couple of background images and use them on your profile page (click on the picture icon next to Background Image to show the images):
59997

Save, and then you too may have a, um, colorful Profile!

Forums to Exclude from Get New and Get Daily searches

If you go to your Edit Options (http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/profile.php?do=editoptions) page, you may now select some forums to exclude from your Get New or Get Daily searches. The forums will still remain in the forums list in case you feel like wandering in, but any new posts made in the forums you select should not show up in your Get New search results.

Just posting a little something about using the PM (Private Message) system.

You may set your options for this system by going to UserCP > Edit Options (http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/profile.php?do=editoptions). On that page under "Messaging & Notification" will be several options:

Enable Private Messaging - this turns the whole system On or Off
Receive Private Messages only from Contacts and Moderators - this allows you to only receive messages from users on your Contact list and Moderators
Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages - you will get an email whenever you receive a Private Message
Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up - you will get a Pop-Up message on the site when you receive a Private Message
Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default - this sets the default to always save copies of any Private Messages you send

So, if you are getting unwanted PMs, then please go over the options above and set them appropriately.
