Tivo Recording To Pc

Forgive me for I'm sure its been discussed on this site at some point or another. I have a direct tv tivo recorder and have a couple shows on it that I would eventually like to pull off and burn to a dvd. However, I don't know know what is the best method in doing this is. Do I need certain cables and software? Any help or links would be greatly appreciated.

Tivo now has its own Tivo2go software designed to facilitate this, but it only supports certain models. I haven't tried it as my Tivo Unit has a built in DVD burner already and isn't yet supported by the software.

tivo is just linux, put a nic in it and set up samba :)
