Email notifications of new forum posts

Hello,
I apologize in advance if this topic is already discussed somewhere, but I think a nice feature for this site would be to have an option in the user profile to receive email notifications for new forum posts, perhaps letting the user pick which forums they would like to receive the email notifications for.

If you go to the forum you want, there is a pull down menu titled Forum Tools. One of the options is Subscribe to this Forum. You then have the choice of receiving daily or weekly notification of posts.

Is that what you were after?
