Hi, this is only a technical question by a stretch, but it's
a real concern and I'm sure you can help.
I find myself unable to get onto Hungercity although I've been registered
and in good standing for a good long time. I'm supposed to contact
the owners/administraters "by pm" with "any concerns" but I have no idea what that means.

Is this a blind and are they in fact closed down? otherwise, just tell me what
they mean by "by pm" and I'll talk to them directly. thanks as usual

Hungercity is up and running.

It seems strange that if you are having problems connecting that you are supposed to PM a moderator. If you can't get onto the site, you can't get to the Staff List to click on a link to PM someone. Unfortunately, I can find no email listed for them. Perhaps once you are able to get back onto the site, you can bring this up with them.

I seem to be screwed. I've been trying to get back on for months to no avail.
At one point, if I tried to re-register I was flagged that the account already existed, yet if I tried to log on I was rejected!
At present I try to re-register and it says it will send confirmation and doesn't.
Or I try the I-forgot-my-password option and again it says it has sent
the info to my address and....doesn't.

But this trading community is so friendly it's impossible to get upset even
when things go this wrong. Maybe someone else out there can connect me
to those guys. m :wave:

I tried logging in once and was rejected.

I sent the admin a rare video a year ago to transfer. Never got the video back and the DVD was never uploaded. From now on I will have to take care of that kind of stuff myself even if I can't take care of it myself.

I think the stats are only since the site came back up. Or else it's like that for me because I joined recently and I had to create a new account after they restored the site this last time.

I'd like to hear what happened when they got hacked before. I've heard references to it but not the whole story.

I checked several time last night, as well as this morning, and all I got was the error message that server couldn't be located. They did say that they had some updated ?artwork? site look update, something to that effect so they may be doing that. You would think that they would at least leave the inbox open, or send a e-mail, notifying members of that.

It looks like it is still having problems. The peers table is probably a Memory type and so everytime they restart mysql, it gets zapped. As long as the torrents are working in your client, just let it be and I'm sure they'll figure out what is up.
