Hi, theres a show on the site currently (u2 night 3 ) that is in shn format. Is there a way I xan convert the shn into flac - the method I currently use is as follows
torrent > azureus > flacfrontend > roxio> cd

Is there a way I could download andprocess the torrent so I could use the flacfrontend programme i currently use (or has someone already converted it ?

Please remember I am new here !!!

Many thanks

Yes - download Foobar (if you don't have it) and follow Five's instructions

Works like a charm!

Do you simply want to make a CD of the show to listen to on your stereo or whatever? There is no reason to convert SHN files into FLAC files before making a CD. SHN and FLAC are both (lossless) compressed files that can be converted to WAV files before burning to CD. With FLAC you've been using FLAC FrontEnd. With SHN try mkwACT. It's here:

http://www.etree.org/mkw.html.

Once installed, highlight all the SHN files. Right click the selected files, and select convert to WAV (I think that's what it says).

Anyway, I think I understand your question and there is no reason to convert to FLAC.

Huh?

I think what you need is the Shorten binary that will allow you convert from SHN to FLAC easily. Use it with Multi-frontend which is very similar to flac frontend.

Check the links in my signature for details.

or you can select all the shn files and drag them to the mkw window...just thought i'd add that detail

I second the vote for foobar. I convert all my SHN sets to FLAC using foobar, and it works great. pmonk sent the link to Five's tutorial already.
