I recorded a few shows on an HDD Recorder, copied them to DVD-RWs, transferred them to PC, authored them in Tsunami DVD author Pro.

Would the lineage look like this:

Cable TV>Pioneer 450 S HDD Recorder>BenQ DVD+RW>HDD>Tsunami DVD Author Pro>You

Yes, something like that. You will need to explain how these are not encoded several times. Explain how you "copied" them to dvd. and explain how they were authored without re-encoding.

The recordings are less than 4.35 GBs so they fit on a disc, they were recorded on XP mode, 4 GBs per hour.

The recorder has a copying feature, one touch dubbing I think it's called.

Tsunami was used to create chapters and menus.

Tsunami was used to create chapters and menus.Does Tsunami have an option to not render video previously rendered? The problem is we don't allow video that is encoded more than once. I bet your HDD recorder encoded it to some format, then your dvd recorder re-encoded that again, then you reencoded it again making your menus. What format was it in at first > last. Those details will need to be stated.

The HDD recorded recorded it in DVD format, which was copied to a DVD-RW.
This is the same recorder we are talking about. A PVR if you like, that has a disc drive...LOL...

I don't know about Tsunami, where would I find this feature? I don't think it does anything other than author the DVD with menus.
