Hey!

I have a movie on 2 VCDs which I'd like to put onto 1 DVD...anyone know how it's done...or can you point me to a guide?

You're going to need a DVD authoring program as well as an MPEG-2 encoder. There are plenty of guides for re-encoding video on www.vcdhelp.com if you want to do something like this.

Be warned that this conversion is actually going to decrease the quality rather than increase it, and other than consolidating to a single disc, there isn't really any point to going through all the trouble.

Yeah I know, I need to back up this movie and I'd rather back it up on DVD rather than 2 CDs...plus I have a friend who wants a copy on DVD...thanks for your help!!!

something like DVDLab will actually burn the movie onto a DVD, and it may save you some steps to do it that way, as opposed to using several programs to transcode yada yada.

but like RainDawg said, it will only make the quality worse. and if you just want to have a backup of the VCD, you can always just use any decent burning software to burn the MPG files onto a data DVD.
