OK, I've seeded many shows before, here and elsewhere, but I've never re-seeded. I opened the torrent file in uTorrent, it checked against the existing files and now says "Seeding," but the original posting still shows no seeders. Is there something I'm missing? Splumer, this happened to me a while back. If your bt is inactive on the tracker for a period of time, you'll have to treat it as a new torrent and add the link for the original torrent somewhere in your comments.

You downloaded the torrent file from the thread to seed, right? Because you cannot seed it using your original torrent file.

Yeah, I did, and then it started downloading from zero, ignoring the existing fileset. Should I just re-post it?

This FAQ item will probably help you. It seems like you are pointing the torrent to the wrong spot for a reseed: http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/faq.php?faq=bittorrent#faq_wrong_folder

That was the first thing I thought of. I directed it to the correct folder, but it still started downloading from zero. But, oddly, the existing files weren't overwritten. I'll have to check it again. Would it be OK if I just re-posted? That seems like it would be easier.

Are you sure it is starting from zero and not just going through the verification that it does?

If there are no seeders on it and the only was you can reseed it is to reupload the show, then go ahead and do that. Make sure you hit the Report this Post on the old one and ask us to remove it.

I am having the same problem when I try to reseed this show
from my hard drive:
http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/showthread.php?t=56365

I am missing two files (the st5 and md5) that were not in the
original seed (which is now inactive):
http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/showthread.php?t=33763

No matter how I try to point the torrent to the folder on my hard drive
that contains the 10 flacs and 2 txt files, another folder gets created
with the 10 flacs, 2 txt, md5, and st5.

Each time the new folder gets added to the folder that I am pointing to,
so that folder ends up with the 12 original files plus the new folder.

Do I technically not have the same show so I cannot reseed it?

I am using bittorrent 4.4.1 on mac osx.

With bittorrent, you (sometimes?) have to do it a bit differently. If you have a file structure like this:

Music folder
- The Doors folder
-- doors1.flac
-- doors2.flac
-- etc

Then try pointing to the folder "Music folder" and then it should work.
