if you want to paint your house, you need the brush, as well as the paint.

There is such a thing as a video CD.
The fact that noone uses that format ought to tell you something about the quality.

No, CD burner can't burn DVD. You need a DVD Burning software, I recommend aimersoft dvd creator (http://www.aimersoft.com/dvd-creator.html)to you, it works nice for me.

You need more than software. You need a dvd burner. For a desktop pc I would get a reliable one like Sony, which should come with Nero software. Under $100 and worth it. Easy to install, easy to use.

I would seriously invest in a DVD burner. They are cheap right now, and so are DVDs. You get 4.3 GB worth of usable storage space on a DVD compared to 640 MB usable storage on a CD. It makes archiving shows soooooo much faster. And, there is the added bonus that you can then burn DVDs to play in your DVD player. DVDs are also really cheap in bulk. I think I bought my last spindle of 100 for about $30 online.

you would pay $100 for one that says SONY rather than $24 for one that says LITE-ON? :hmm:

going to decrease in price and increase in size. I just built my 1st computer
Are there any threads relating to computer builds?
