Can anyone tell me how to convert DVDs from PAL to NTSC format? My DVD player wont play PAL.

I am sure there are many ways....here is one of them. It may be easier to buy a dvd player that accepts multiple country codes.

Copy your vob files into a directory

Rename each vob file extention to "avi"

Use your authoring software to create dvd from the video files in your directory.

Select your all of the avi files (make sure that they are in order 1, 2, 3, etc). Usually, you can choose what size and quality your output file will be. Then you can burn to NTSC.

One note, you will have to re-author if you want chapters, song selections etc.

On that list can anyone tell me what to look for for a DVD player that plays PAL? I'm looking to keep it in the less than $50 category

Philips makes the best one. I got mine at Target.
