View Full Version : Can't seed after System Restore

I recently had to perform a system restore. When I bring my torrent program up it won't let me seed the files that I have previously downloaded. I can open them but it says the tracker is down and that it is hosted or published. I know the system restore did something to it. Any ideas?

Thanks.

What bittorrent application are you using? And I assume you are on Win XP?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling your client software? Or perhaps installing a different client?
That comparison would show whether it's the client software or something else, like firewall settings.

I am using Azureus.

Try installing utorrent. Once you've got it working, I doubt you would go back to Azureus anyway.

No, I haven't.

I think the problem is that I had to restore to a point beforethose particular torrents were downloaded. I can still seed a torrent that was downloaded before that restore point.

Interesting... In that case, I'd try deleting the .torrent file and re-downloading it.

But I'd still switch to utorrent. :)

^^ yep, I would try deleting the torrent from Azureus (red X) and then downloading it again and pointing it to the correct folder. It should then check the contents and (hopefully) go into seed mode.

Thanks, I will try this and see what happens. I will also try Utorrent if all else fails. I will let you know how it goes. :D

I tried to delete and re-download but Azureus wouldn't let me. I uninstalled Azureus and downloaded Utorrent. Now it's working great!

Thanks everyone for all the help!

the XP restore feature almost never works.
