Capturing streaming audio

I'm looking for a program that I can use to capture streaming audio. I found one through google called SoundTap that looks & sounds pretty good. Has anyone had any experience with this program or have suggestions on another program that they have had success with? I have an HP laptop that I run Windows on. Thanks in advance!

I have never used it, but the best way to record a stream online is to get the actual file so it is in the same bitrate. I think the software just records the weav out mix from the soundcard. You could do that with Audacity for free. But like i said before you want to get the actual file that is streaming not just record the sound through your soundcard. I used to record streaming audio and video from websites so you can PM me if you want to know anything about recording streams and I will try and help you out.

I've used XMplay (http://support.xmplay.com/index.php) which worked very well. I've also used MiniStream Ripper (http://www.mini-stream.com/) without a problem.

Ministream is very easy but costs a $30-ish. XMplay is free but takes a little tweaking.

I was advised a few years ago to use Total Recorder from...
http://www.highcriteria.com/
...which I find to be great - you can save the output in plenty of formats including WAV, MP3 and WMA. It's free to try (it's adds noise every 60 secs), but it's worth spending the $17.95 (USD) to get the proper working version.
