Return to Page after logout not working since SW upgrade

It seems that since the upgrade, if you logout and log back in, you are no longer returned to the page you were viewing.

They redid some of the things in vbulletin and I guess that is one of them. There isn't anything I can do about the changes they did.

Just curious, but why would you be on a page, logout, and then log back in?

Well, if you did happen to logout and needed to log back in, the message one gets asks if you would like to return to the page you were viewing, but that is not what it does.

Hmmm, I just logged out of this page. Then I get taken to a screen that asks if I want to return to the page I was on. I click that and I get taken back to this page. That will NOT work for any forum where you need to be logged in to view the page - like it won't work for any threads in the Music Downloads forums since you must be logged in to view them.



edit to add: I just went to a thread in ABT and logged out. I got asked if I wanted to return to the previous screen and got taken to a login screen. I logged in and got taken back to the ABT thread. That is how it should work since you need to be logged in to view the ABT threads.

Yes, but it used to take you back to threads in the music download forums.

I only pointed it out because I noticed the change in behavior, and after the upgrade you were solicitting reports of bugs. Maybe this is not a bug.

BTW, whatever happened to the "Sort by First Post Date" as the "Default Forum Sort Order" under User Control Panel Options?

The option is still there, but it no longer works.

Any chance of us seeing that fixed?

It probably did used to take you back. But after we got notice for the Zep thread, I made the Torrent forums private so they don't get spidered and now you must be logged in to view them.

You can still sort by first post. I rewrote that code before I did the upgrade, so it is still there. But, I have not gotten around to rewriting the code for the default forum sort order. I did mention that the torrents page has them all listed in post date order. That will have to do until I rewrite the other code.
