anyone familiar with these, a friend gave me an old computer, i pulled out a wintv card from 1998, after searching for drivers and whatnot i had no luck. What free programs are there to capture? Am i going to need a rca to 1/8 for the audio imput? any help would be cool-drew

normally you capture on your best soundcard (maybe an m-audio audiophile 2496 for $120 or something like that) and capture the video on the videocard. look for virtualdub on sourceforge, really great little prog. btw I also have a really really old ATI AIW capture/tuner card and it could only capture at 320x240 and is not really suitable for capturing sources for authoring DVDs, your card is probably similar.

also might be helpful to post over at videohelp.com. they're really nice and know their hardware/software inside-out.

I've acquired several TV cards that way, I got a couple from Hauppauge, and one from Creative. Don't know what model Win-TV and which chip set (http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/support/support_pci_boards.html) you have but this driver might work http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/support/support_d.html
