Afordable vhs time base correction

anyone know of a way to get quality/Afordable vhs time base correction.
i have seen no such software creature. everything looks hardware based.
recomendations?

try typing "ratio" and select "Search title only" into our Advanced Search (http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/search.php?) engine...should give you some reading on the subject

as for TBCs, the only ones i've used are made by Datavideo...the term "affordable" is subjective, but i'm guessing their units are gonna be out of yer price range...if you could post an approx $ amount yer looking to spend, it'd make recommending easier ;)

i have 50 or so s-vhs tapes i would like to mave dvds from in liquid.
after im finished, i have no use for the time base corrector.
so renting/ebay a machine or paying a couple of hundred would be perfect.

i know i've read a few things about the AV Toolbox time base corrector for around $200 new, but i can't tell you how good of quality its gonna deliver...Datavideo also has a PCI slot TBC-100 for a little more $

ebay might be a good start...also check the used gear over at B&H, you can sometimes find great deals on well maintained gear

Some of the cheaper TBCs out there are really rebranded products from Cypress Technology, so most probably it's cheapest to import one of those directly. For instance the AVToolbox AVT8710 is really a rebranded Cypress Technology CTB-100. See http://www.cypress.com.tw/

I got myself a Cypress Technology CTB-100G, pretty much the same as the AVTool AVT8710 but in a metal housing and with genlock possibility. (Some people has reported heat problems with the AVT8710 since it's housing is made of plastic) Bought it from http://www.globalmediapro.com/ in New Zeeland. Including the postage to Sweden - a looong way away - it still turned out quite alot cheaper.

(The Cypress Technology CTB-100G is called "Globalmediapro X-201 Multisystem TBC-Frames Synchronizer with Genlock" on that page.)
