Me and this guy (newtdecay aka James Michael) from Toronto, ON Canada
Had a B+P to start. This b+p started Novebmer 7, 2007
I gave him 5 blank dvds & he said "with the weak US buck, it's gotta be $4. "
So I sent...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then he PMed me 11.22.07

Got them!

I am going to work on them today, and hopefully send them back out to you tomorrow.

i'll let you know.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Time went by I senr him 3 more emails in that period of time
He then Told me 12.24.07

They're sitting on my desk at home. I'll be home on the 27th - so I will try & get the out on the 27th.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

I never heard from him again Ive sent many emails to him (I bet he blocked me)
I even added him to my msn and I said hi to him and he Ran Away never came back on msn since) Its been so long I feel so fucked over.............:disbelief

he last visited TTD a few hours ago...

here is his trader list / website where he admits to being on two 'bad traders' lists. Guess that info would have been helpful to you back in November...

http://www.geocities.com/susanwasaprettyman/traders.html

he said "with the weak US buck, it's gotta be $4. "

that would be your cue to pull out of the trade right there

Postage for 5 discs from Canada to the US is $3.20

Seemed like he was asking for an additional $4 after he sent the B&P the first time... if not, I appologize.

Looks like he made another trader unhappy:

actually newtdecay is a GREAT trader. honest and usually with good communication. have had several trades with him, never a single problem. he might not rank among the lightspeed fast traders but so do others, even those who complain about him.

sounds kinda weird that he'd pull such a stunt.

Quick easy money can make some people become arse-clowns....if he can't own up here and take care of business then he's earned his "bad" trader status.

I'm glad you got your stuff but these other people have legitimate issues. I NEVER charge for postage as it all works out in the wash of a trade.

Here's to hoping you folks get your stuff from this one.

pixiestix69:
Sent out 04/11/08. No excuse for sending so late, but it's a very cool collection of shows. 11or12 shows on 8 discs. I apologize for any distress I have caused you. I never block on message boards, always wonder what someone has to say. (Obviously) I never ever meant for it to take this long I never had the intention of not sending the shows off. Please let me know when they have arrived.

jameskg:
What's the cue to pull out of the trade? Honesty? & being on 1 bad traders bad traders list, who has gotten their discs, but still includes me as a bad trader? & they got their discs in well enough time (3 weeks). The other, who is an inconsiderate bastard? & I suppose the other approx. 65-70 contacts I have listed mean nothing. & thats just the contacts I have kept listed from my 200+ snail trades over the years. LOL. People can be so silly. & asking for correct postage for a B&P (since it's hard to get CDN postage for some people in the states), which is an ok practice here at TTD, I emailed a MOD to confirm quite awhile ago. & I do not know how you got that I was asking for an extra $4 from that?

tgunn2760:
Postage for 5 discs from Canada to the USA is not $3.20. You posted in March 2008 & in March 2008, it was $4.00, as it is now. I even double checked this while I was at the PO today. In November 2007, before postage went up, it was $3.60. All prices listed do not include applicable taxes. Before you post something to try to make someone look poorly, do your research.

Jetrell69:
Very nice of you to not charge for postage when postage is due. I don't think pixiestix69 could access CDN postage, so I offered to accept USD cash, as I don't accept change in the mail. & not sure if you are aware, we do not have $1, $2 bills anymore. If pixiesitx69 & I would've had a trade, then obviously, postage would not have been charged. & I became an "arse-clown", I guess, for a reason which I explained to pixiestix69 over PM. That is the reason the B&P messed up in the firstplace. I wouldn't accept $3, if postage came to
$3.75 (with applicable taxes) because I do not work. Maybe if you did not work & could afford to do B&P's & pay a dollar here & a dollar there, but a dollar is a meal in my mouth. And not sending out pixiestix69 shows was not a way for me to be able to have a special weekend meal at KFC.

Anyways, with all that said, pixiestix69 was very patient & I don't know if I would have been as patient as him. & I will not let someone talk ill about me & make me look poorly if what they have said is not true. & like dummkopf said, sounds weird that I would pull such a stunt, because it is.

dummkopf: thanks!

I didn't try to "make you look poorly", I was defending you.

I use a postage meter, and it costs $3.20 for up to 200 grams. That is between five and nine discs. You said $4.00, I figured you rounded if off. I didn't expect anyone to send you quarters and dimes.

If you paid $4.00? GET YOUR MONEY BACK!

My apologies, I just figured since this was a thread about a bad trader everybody had a negative thing to say about me, so I read it & took it the wrong way. But it still cost me $4.00. I'm sure of it that the woman at the PO wouldn't have made a mistake, but it is possible the bubble envelope was heavier than usual & added to the weight.

It's none of our faults that you don't work or don't have a job....that is your personal business and preferrence and a sad thing to bring in to justify your position & tardiness. You already knew you were on other bad-traders lists so why B&P if you can't work within a reasonable amount of time? Besides, if you don't work, why do you let someone else pay for you to be on the internet and still take B&P's you can't be timely on?

I work, have a 3yr. old daughter, and I am poor...but I manage myself within limits I can swing....if I can't I say so....I don't take someone's money so I can eat without delivering what I promised when I promised. I share music freely as I received it. If someone wants to pay shipping both ways then fine, I can live with that but I don't force the issue as I was in their shoes at one time when looking for items that no-one would give me without $20.00USD or more coming out of my pocket to theirs....now THAT is a shame.

I am not trying to be mean to you but I think you need to figure out what and when you can do things and stick to it, otherwise you may not even have accounts at websites where people do trade because your actions don't really show you care about anyone else's situation but your own.

We all have problems....it's when they interfere with what we find fun that starts turning things sour.

Peace

Just came back from the Post Office and indeed it costs $4.00 to send 5 DVD'S to the U.S.
Calculate the bubble envelope, the runaround to the Post Office(because you have to fill in the Duty slip)the time to burn the stuff,Heck its worth more than $4.00.
Anyhow if you guys agreed and worked it out like that,You need to receive your DVD'S.Its should be like EBAY-A done deal!

Has anyone heard from him lately? I see he hasn't logged into TTD for a few months now. We have a trade going back 6 months that hasn't been fulfilled from his end. I checked his feedback on here and on his etree list before doing the trade, and I figured he was a slow trader, but I can deal with that.....I'm not in a rush. He acknowledged having received our discs, and said that he had sent ours, but we never did receive them. A couple of months later we agreed that he would resend, and I offered to send him some extras for his goodwill of having to redo them (I hate when something goes "missing" in the mail - I know it is generally a given that the sender should bite the bullet and resend at their cost, but it's a toughie for me, cos I always feel bad that they have had to pay twice discs and twice postage, so I always offer some more stuff as a thanks).

We agreed on this, and then he dropped off the scene. I have written several emails and PMd thru TTD, but haven't heard back. As I said, I figured it wouldn't be a fast trade based on the feedback.....but that made no difference to me. There has been no action on his etree list for several months either.

If anyone knows what has happened with him, please get in touch with me or ask him to get in touch. First and foremost, I guess I just want to make sure he's actually ok. Secondly, I wouldn't mind receiving the discs we agreed on.....I'm not bitter and twisted about it - I'm not one of these traders that jumps up and down if a few discs don't show - we all get burned occasionally - this particular trade was 15 discs, and all except one was for my husband, so it'd be nice to get them for him.

Thanks for any help.

I just wanted to update here. I have just received an email of apology from the above trader. He said that he is highly embarrassed about this particular trade and a couple of others, and he sounded genuinely sorry that I hadn't received the discs yet. He said he has mailed out the packages late last week, so I should expect to receive them within the next couple of weeks. I've always said I have no worries with waiting on a trade - communication is the key, and he has now updated me - so I'm happy. I will post here to confirm when I have received the DVDs so that y'all know everything's good.

Cheers, Jude

So another trade was set up. I sent my discs, he needed me to make another couple of picks as he couldn't copy a couple. No problem. One week goes by. Another and another. This is week 6 or 7 now. I live close enough that it should take a day or two for the mail to arrive. No communication from him even though I email him every Friday asking for a reply and the status of my discs. I gave him until next Friday before I label him a bad trader. If he replies before then and I get my discs I will erase all of this and label him a good trader.

This trade just boggles me.

Been so long now with no response I have to say he took my discs and ran.

Very unprofessional and discourteous. Maybe good once, but bad trader now.

Geoff, I had the exact same experience.....heaps of communication, and then none. No replies to my messages for months. I'd written it off as a bad trade, then suddenly I receive an email out of the blue, apologizing, and saying that the discs would be on the way. They did indeed arrive in the end - probably about 6 months after I had sent his discs? I too am baffled by the whole no communication/no send discs deal, but it seems he always comes through in the end....very puzzling, but hang in there!!
