I just got a DVD in a trade, and the picture is EX and it sounds good, but the volume is way too low. On a normal level, I can barely hear it.

What I have done so far is extracted the audio from the DVD and have fixed it so it sounds good, but now I have to remove the old audio and add the fixed one. How can I do this, if anyone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it

Stick it in your authoring proggy.
Tmpeg is an easy one to use but all have the same options give or take. Now it will tell you the audio & video specs etc.
You will have an option to change the audio(look for source tab)<---thats the bit you want. Now swap
Then adjust your gap correction to resync it as it may be + or -180 ms depending on how you did your remaster.

However you could of just left everything, reauthored it & used the option of volume adjusting in the authoring proggy.
