View Full Version : How old are you? (answers are private)

paddington
2007-10-13, 02:31 PM
I thought it would be nifty to get an idea of the average of the TTD user-base. The poll results are private, so no one will see your answer. I don't think staff can see them either.

I hope everyone (even lurkers) will participate (in an honest fashion ;) )!

Old enough to know better, young enough to do it again! Well...some of it, anyway...

My old lady is wont to say, "He's fourty, going on seventeen." (So is she, though...:D)

I managed to see all three original "Star Wars" movies in the theatre when they came out. Been pissed at Lucas ever since he fucked with the originals adding all that CGI crap. Haven't watched 'em since.

Technically, though, I'm eleven (I was born February 29, 1968)...normally I celebrate on the 28th, but every four years we go all out.

Old enough to remember boxes of The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour on a checkout lane endcap at Two Guys department store. I was five at the time and the cover scared the hell out of me. Couldn't for the life of me figure out how people could be animals and people at the same time. I opened the door one day to greet my father as he came home from work. He was wearing a rubber antelope mask, I freaked.

Revenge came around two years later when our family went to vacation in the Catskill Mountains. We accidentally attended Woodstock, he freaked.

Floyd played at County Stadium in 1975, 1977 and again in 1987 (w/o Roger), I was at all 3. BTW, 1975 was not the DSOTM tour. County Stadium wasn't torn down until about 2002 when Miller Park opened.

i have to be timeless, else i'd get caught up in stereotypes and other hindrances.
but i have learnt that timeless does not equal ageless.
i am at ease with people ten years younger, but i find the language barrier between myself and people twenty years younger to be a bridge that i'd sooner burn than cross. that's sheer bloody laziness, though, you understand, rather than a measure of my own out-of-touchness with kids.
if i were much younger i'd be too young to understand the things i understand. if i were much older, i'd be too tired.
i have a sister that is twenty years younger than me: she thinks that music only rocks if the lead singer wears a blood-splattered hockey mask.
