Hi

I'm looking to get a new program to help organize all my CD's & DVD's.

I currently us OrangeCD. It is OK. It uses FreeDb for its database. Unfortunately it does not recognize 90% of the disks I put in there. I end up having to manually enter all the info.

I was wondering if there was a program that might allow me to burn to CD, and have a database pick it up immediately? I understand there are so some awesome obscure boots on this site that I should not expect to be in any database.

I would like to share what I have, but it is a major undertaking getting everything organized.

Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

I use Music Label and find it very good. Recognizes cd text too which can be helpful. Check it out here: http://www.codeaero.com/

i also use orangecd - pain in the ass - it needs to be associated with Gracenote

if you go to the following link and download the program it will recognize most all of your bootlegs. only problem is you have to burn your music to cd before it willl recognize them. it can't do directly from files. another pain in the ass. it's all i got for you. good luck - i am doing same thing.all by hand. takin forever.

This may sound dumb, but is there an FAQ for how to create, add shows and view your list?

Tase2 no there are no known fags to this that i know of.

try that program on the link i gave you - it works very good. also you can go directly to http://gracenote.com/music/ to look up just like using the etree database.

that program i show above will find the info for you as long as you are putting in discs. as you said you alsready have the music burned on cd - so this should work.

hi

an easy question. My trade list is getting too long now to keep emailing to people, so I want to put it up on the web for convenience. Where is the best place to do it? etree?, tapetrader? or elsewhere?

See my sig. do find them quite reliable - used to go down to or three years ago. And it has a nice layout (etree I find a messy).

if you can do simple HTML, we've used bravenet for a while...very happy with their services [especially considering its free]

I use www.phishhook.com. It has an export feature so you can store a backup copy of list locally, just in case.

I use http://2ip.com/. If you just want to upload your HTML files it is really easy, or you can create you site with the creator. I spent a while looking around for who offered the best package overall and this came top of the list. Top of my list, anyway. Maybe because it is free....

I don't know crap about HTML so I use tapetrader. It's easy to set up, to add, to edit, and to provide all sorts of info. You can provide setlists, too. You can add all necessary info conveniently.

I ended up going with CD Trustee (www.base40.com)

Does anyone know of a way (other than manually) to export from orangeCD to CD Trustee?

Right now I am adding new ones to both-what a waste, but I don't want to lose track of any.

Try to use absolutely free Movienizer (http://movienizer.com/). Especially I like that you can easily find information on the Internet especially I like its simplicity, it is easy to find info on the Internet or extract technical information from a disc. It does everything correctly and automatically, all you need is to press a couple of buttons :)

OrangeCD Catalog (www.firetongue.com) - more than decent

which interfaces with http://www.racksandtags.com/

or you can publish/export your own html, xls, csv lists.

That's intense. All of that for a music collection?
