I originally seeded this torrent:

Genesis 1987-07-04 Live in the City of Light (FLAC)

The seems to be a problem with downloading, it stays at 99.9%

I tried to reseed but I also got stuck at 99.9% . I have the complete file on my pc, so that isn't the problem. Could it be the torrent?

Did you change any of the txt file AFTER you made the torrent?

Koolkat, as far as I know I didn't change anything in the textfile. I've had this problem once before, reason unclear. I use Mu-torrent.

From the FAQ:

I am seeding a show, but no one can complete past 99.9% Why? (http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/faq.php?faq=bittorrent#faq_99)

One of the most common mistakes made by seeders is editing a text info after creating a .torrent file. To prevent this from happening, make sure that ALL files within your torrent, including the text files, look how you want them to before creating a .torrent file.

The other common mistake is people leaving a file in the torrent open in an application when they make the torrent. So, make sure all the files are closed out of any applications when you go to make your torrent.

If the mistake has already been made, then simply make a new torrent with all of the files as you would like them to be, upload it to the tracker through the upload page, and then hit the Report this Post link on the old torrent, , and tell the mods what happened so they can pull the old torrent. Users should then close the old torrent and open the new torrent and point it to the same folder, at which point all of what they currently downloaded will check and they only need to grab the remaining 0.1%.

Since you say you didn't change a file after making the torrent, I would guess you left the text file or another file 'open' when you made the torrent file.

The problem is the "result" note pad... everything else works just fine. I decoded the flacs and could open all the other files.

The "result" note pad is not in the shared torrent... maybe it was in your first version!

I removed it because it contained a not allowed checksum. So what should I do now? Make a new torrent as suggested?

wimn58, yes, you should redo the torrent. Otherwise, people are confused about completing the show at 99.9% and besides that, the torrent will get removed in three weeks because of a lack of seeder for three weeks (our criteria for removing shows).

I U2Lynne, I redid the torrent, would you see to it that the old show is pulled? I guess that I left a file open while making the first torrent. Sorry for the problem I caused :( The only excuse I have that I'm a newbie is uploading torrents.

Sure, I pulled it. Normally what you would do is just hit the Report this Post button, http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/images/buttonsttd/report.gif, on the old/broken torrent and ask the Mods to remove it.

I'm having this same problem with reseeding a Police show torrent, one which I haven't changed anything. I've reseeded things in the past, but for some reason it's just not working. It *was* moved off my torrent HD and onto backup media, and for the reseed I moved it back to the HD, but everything checked out OK, so I was left scratching my head on this issue.

So correct procedure is to use the "Report this Post" button, and create a new announce post & torrent? Perhaps with a "Reseed" in the title?

Cheers

I see you seeding the Police show just fine.

You only want to list this as a Reseed if the show was moved to the Inactive Torrents forum. If it was never properly seeded in the first place, then it should not be listed as a reseed.
