Splitting WAV files [Archive]

Hello,
What is the preferred method/program for splitting large .wav files into tracks for burning onto CD. Right now I'm using Cool Edit Pro and just cutting/pasting into a new file.

i like Audacity, which allows you to adjust DC offset, normalize, etc as well
