I have reason to believe my ratio is incorrect here. Is there a process or some procedure I can follow to request a look into this? I appreciate any help with this. Thank you very much.

You can sent a private message to U2Lynne and ask her to investigate.

But what makes you think there is a discrepancy? Maybe we can help you here.

Thank you. The discrepancy is with a show, http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/showthread.php?t=37557 I've been seeding for a month+. Azerus shows that I've seeded 5.60 gb of a 4.32 gb show and my ratio hasn't really changed. Thanks again.

Azureus has some problems with showing shares sometimes. Having DHT enabled will cause this. Disable DHT. DHT basically is being connected without being connected to a server (which is what updates your ratio). But at the same time it can connect you to torrents that get banned. Google/wiki DHT for more info. Or just wait for Lynne to chime in. ;)

Hope this helps.

yes, i was going to suggest that you have been seeding people through the DHT instead of the tracker. It isn't always obvious whether the data is flowing to tracked peers or DHT peers. The tracker can't see that DHT data flowing from peer to peer, so it can't 'track' it. Disabling DHT is always a good thing on honest trading trackers.

Thanks. Am I correct in understanding that the only way to disable the DHT is with each torrent? In other words, is there a default I can set in Azureus, or should I just do it with each torrent?

Okay, go to Tools > Options. First section it should be on is the Connection page. There should be something on that page that says "Peer Sources". Uncheck everything but "From a Tracker" if you want to disable DHT.

You guys are all right about DHT and how it is best to leave it off. But one thing you didn't touch on is that once you have downloaded/uploaded several GBs, uploading to a ratio over over 1.0 on a torrent will really not change your ratio too much. Example:

Let's say you start out like this:
(100.00 GB/100.00 GB/1.0)

Then you go and seed to a 3.0 on a 4 GB torrent (4 GB down/ 12 GB up):
(100.00+4 GB/100.00+12 GB/1.0+?)
(104.00 GB/112.00 GB/1.08)

So, even though you seeded to a big 3.0 ratio on that one torrent, you only increase you ratio by about 0.08.

Thanks again.

Another thing is, with newer versions of Azureus under the connections section is an option for decentralized tracking. I know lots of sites that will ban you from downloading a torrent if you activate this. So I'm glad you asked and everything was cleared up.
