I've been having problems with my current burner and would like some help picking out a new one. I would like an external. Links would be much appreciated.

It may not be the burner as such. What media are you using? Is the firmware up to date?

I'm also looking at getting a new drive - in my case an internal, capable of writing dual layer dvd. I found this article pretty interesting:
Plextor PX-760A Dual-Layer DVD Burner Review (http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/storage/print/plextor-px760a.html)
The author considers a 100 bucks to be high, but for some reason, I don't. Look at the technology your getting for just a $100. My first hard drive I spent $400 for 40-frigging-megabytes! And was glad to have it!
